Obituary for Mary Lou Olsen

Mary Lou Olsen
Mary Lou Olsen, 84, of Graham, WA, formerly of Sedro-Woolley, WA, passed away on Sept. 20th, 2014 in Puyallup, WA.

Mary Lou was born to Peter and Lucy Berg on Dec. 30, 1929. She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1947. She then attended Cornish College and studied Interior Design. She married Richard Olsen of Richmond Beach in 1950.

She worked in and managed restaurants for most of her adult life. She also owned Burlington House Floral for several years.

Mary Lou loved gardening, art, reading, and cooking. She was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club of Orting. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends, and loved to entertain. A spontaneous picnic was one of her favorites.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Richard; her parents Lucy and Peter; three brothers Alvin, Roland, and Orland; three sisters Mildred, Betty, and Bertha.

Mary Lou is survived by her brother Alan Berg of Spokane; her daughter Holly (Allen) Pierce of Graham; her grandson Richard (Lynette) Pierce of Auburn; and three beautiful great-granddaughters Keira, Elaina, and Rhianna. And a special niece Karen Autin, who helped her to be able to live in her home for the past few years.

If you'd like to remember her-she had a special charity that she gave to: SmileTrain.org, P.O. Box 96321, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231 This charity was close to Mary Lou's heart because she was also born with a cleft palate.

As per her wishes-there will be no service.
