David John Platt, 64, Olalla WA. passed away January 21, 2016, from extended health issues. He had both of his children by his side.
David was born June, 7, 1951, in the Bremerton WA Naval Hospital and grew up in Corpus Christie, TX. He went to school in Anchorage, AK for training in mechanics. David went on to work for Dick Boyles Chevrolet in Gig Harbor. He then became an apprentice at Peninsula Gateway Newspaper, running the printing press. He went on to his final job as a printer for The Olympian newspaper. He married Joanne (Cummans) Platt April 9, 1976. Together they had two children.
He is survived by his former wife, Joanne (Cummans) Platt; Son, Robert Platt, Gig Harbor, WA; Daughter, Katie Platt, Gig Harbor, WA; Grandson, Joseph, Gig Harbor, WA; Sister, Rebecca Valrejean, Bahamas; Aunt and Uncle, John and Patricia Platt, Gig Harbor, WA; Cousins, Mike Platt, and Dan Platt, Gig Harbor, WA.
David was retired from the printing Industry and enjoyed many hobbies. His sense of humor and smile made it easy for people to immediately appreciate him. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and his beloved surviving dog. He spent a lot of his time watching sci-fi and documentaries.
